My name is xcy_g. I have 5 children and youngest are 2yrs of age.  I became widowed from my deceaed husband, when he was murdered in 2002.  My mother & grandmother who raised & nurtured me past away just before my husband & I was devastated. They say when it rains, it pours literally. I started to loose my mind & become very depressed person. I did not want to live, I lost my job, house, vehichle, and above all my children. I was thrown on the streets and became homeless for 7 1/2 mthns. I turned to substance abuse, to ease my pain. I later found out my children were being sexually abused in a christain daycare they were attending, it blew my mind and all I wanted to do was get right in my head and let me tell you it wasn't easy to do. God has blessed me to have the streghth & courage to do it and I did.  I am happy to say I recently been clean for a little more then a year, I am not depressed any longer and I got my children back in June of 2009. I want to bring back stability into my childrens lives again. I cannot imagine the pain my poor children felt through all they have been pulled from and deprived of. I can not look back at the past, but use the gift of experince to teach my children the best I can be, as a parent. I feel as if I got a second chance at life and I want it now to give the best I can to my children and their children God Bless! 

MY NAME IS JEANETTE HADDEN ,I AM 29 YEARS OLD AND I HAVE 3 CHILDREN 10,8 AND 2 .TWO MONTHS AGO I HAD A GOOD JOB WAS SUPPORTING MY FAMILY AND WAS INDEPENDANT IT WAS GREAT, THEN ON 6-3-08 A CAR PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF ME AND CHANGED EVERYTHING,I AM NOW DISABLED WITH SEVERE NECK INJURIES ,SINCE THEN MY CHILDREN HAVE BEEN TAKING CARE OF ME MORE THAN ME THEM,BEING DISABLED HAS CHANGED ME ,I LOVED MY INDEPENDANCE NOW I HAVE TO DEPEND ON OTHER PEOPLE AN D I AM VERY GRATEFUL.i HAVE APPLIED FOR SSI DISABILITY AND VARIOUS OTHER PLCES ONLY TO BE DENIEDFOR HELP WITH FOOD BILLS GAS OR ANY OTHER EXPENSES IT TAKES TO SURVIVE.SINCE I CANNOT WORK FOR ABOUT A YEAR I HAVE ENROLLED AT OKALOOSA APPLIED TECHNOLOGY CENTER, I WILL BE TAKING THE ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT DEGREE PROGRAM USING THE PELL GRANT BUT THIS GRANT WILL NOT BE ENOUGH TO HELP WITH MY LIVING EXPENSES,SO I AM ASKING FOR YOUR HELP.

JUST GIVE ME THE CHANCE TO PROVE I CAN MAKE THIS FOR ME AND MY FAMILY.MY NECK AND WOUNDS WILL HEAL AND AFTER ALL THIS I WILL BE A BETTER AND PERHAPS STRONGER PERSON,FIND A GREAT JOB AND TAKE MY LIFE BACK.THANK YOU

Hello Wendy My name is Jennifer Prince I live in Gulf Breeze, FL. I am sorry to hear about your loss and your situtation...I am also a widow... I so wish I could start a program for young widowed mothers. It seems to me that there is nothing...It is like you loose your husband and then there you are. Nothing. Like just fend for your self. I live off of the SSI Survivor benifits because my daughter is not old enough for school and if I go back to work right now all I will be doing is paying for child care...It seems like I would be better off if he would have just left me... not died... mothers that their childrens father leave on their own accord get soo much more acknowledgement and help... the doesnt seem to be much help or guidence for us. It is not really acknoleged that there is a problem.... Have you happened to find any kind of help for young single widowed mothers...if so I sure would like some guidence. It has been four years for me but I am still stuck and fustrated. I was eight months pregnant with my husband passed away in his sleep with a heart attack he was 34.
